The Bridge: 2001-2011: Leaving on a High Note! Bridge Trivia Challenge!: Archives of Photos/Live Music/Videos…

By Richard Barnstein
ABOVE: The Bridge: 11/24/10: Ram’s Head Live!

On Thursday May 26th, at approx 11am, my brother called me with the news on the Bridge’s announcement to end as a band in November. Over the course of the day, hundreds of fans from all over the country posted heartfelt comments on the band’s Facebook page. Most were sad and shocked, all were appreciative, and a few fans were even angry. Why would a band, who only 4 months ago released their best album to date, getting national airplay on satellite radio, be calling it quits? Any questions directed towards the band were answered in their website announcement. Regardless of why the Bridge are ending their 10 year musical journey, I thought it’d be best to give them mega-high praise, and leave some really fun stuff for the die-hard Bridge fans to enjoy. Below, I’ve listed a Bridge Trivia Challenge, Photo archives, cool vids, free download favs, setlists, stats, songs not on albums, instrumental favs, and more.

I’ve probably been to 110 or so Bridge shows. I’ve always felt that, at the forefront of what’s made the Bridge so special is their songwriting. (Check out the Bridge’s “The Bridge”, “Blind Man’s Hill”, and “National Bohemian”.) How they then translated that to a live show, combining their originals with stellar covers, separated them from the masses. After 10 years, there’s no question that the Bridge are leaving on a high note, and fans aren’t taking it for granted. Don’t miss out on the farewell Bridge show at the Ram’s Head Live on Wednesday November 23rd. This should be a really special, “one for the ages” show, and will likely sell out ahead, so click here to order/print out your tickets to avoid lines on the day of the show.
